Ralph Grabowski discusses the DWGCHECK system variable in AutoCAD. For viewers wishing to research this subject themselves, I have posted a DWG file created with IntelliCAD 2000: ICAD2000.dwg (22 KB). This file will trigger the TrustedDWG mechanism in all versions of AutoCAD from AutoCAD 2000 through AutoCAD 2007. Permission is hereby granted, a) to use this file for any purpose related to research on the subject of TrustedDWG, and b) to disseminate this file freely so long as www.ADSKvODA.com is acknowledged as the source.

When I opened the drawing from the website directly and selected Cancel on the AutoCAD alert for non Autodesk drawings and if I wanted to continue opening this drawing AutoCAD 2007 locked up. If I selected Continue it worked just fine. Hm...
I also eventually got a crash.

Re: WorldCAD Access: Researching DwgCheck

I noticed an error referencing DWG TrueView the first time I tried opening directly from the web site, then everything just stopped. When I try it again, IE7 just sits there and does nothing. Saving the file locally and opening from my hard drive works as expected.
